The Broadway Museum
About : The Junee and District Historical Society Inc.

Housed in what was the old Broadway Hotel, the museum has a variety of thematic displays using artifacts from the Junee Area presented so as to provoke thought and interest in the history of our Shire and sometimes a little of the humour of the residents. Also to be found are photographs and documentation dealing with the rich heritage of a rural and railway past and present, the families and their pursuits of business and sporting activities.

The museum is assembled and presented entirely by a small band of volunteers, few if any with special talents or qualifications, who somehow manage to do a creditable job.

An integral part of the museum and located in the former bar room, a private venture is:

'THE VENICE VILLA ANTIQUES and Coffee Bar'.

Owned and operated by Natalie Waters, this attractively presented Antique shop is a pleasure to inspect and also features very reasonably priced Chinese Bone China gift ware.

Natalie serves the exclusive (to Junee) Dimattina coffee and nicely prepared snacks. Milkshakes, teas and cool drinks are also available.

The shop door serves as the Entry to the Museum and has become a popular meeting place for a 'quiet cuppa'.

The Coffee Shop and Museum are opened:

10.00am to 4.00pm.

Wednesday to Monday (closed Tuesday) all year around except Christmas Day and Good Friday.

Special times can be organized for groups by arrangement with the Curator.

Phone 6924 1832 or email

Admittance to the museum is by Honesty Box $5 -$2 Student

Special arrangements for organized groups can be made.
